Title: fitting bov - how to block induction kit ???
Post by: Shark on March 06, 2005, 08:40:39 PM
As per title, I\'m going to fit an aftermarket BOV, but am not sure how best to block off the pipe on my Apexi induction kit that will be left

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Gregor

Not sure what\'s the best stuff to use, but will a plastic/rubber cork fit held securely with a hose clamp or something?

Just an idea.

Cheers

there shouldn\'t be any serious pressure on it so that would probably do.  I just haven\'t the foggiest where to get something suitable from?

What have other folks used??

thanks guys,

Have sent the other half to try and get a rubber walking stick boot as she works in the town centre but if she\'s empty handed tonight or I can\'t make it fit properly then I\'ll try one of these

B&Q do rubber feet for table/chair legs, perfect fit for my standard airbox when I took the airpump off. They might do the trick for you.

cheers guys.

After all that, I went to fit yesterday and found the hose connector on the bov is too big for the standard turbo hose.

Will need to get a silicon hose that reduces in size now.  Grrrr.

got my defi\'s in place now though :cool

34mm internal diameter for the bov, reducing to the standard hose size for attaching to the torbo pack

Reckon you can help me?

Ive got a Greddy type S on my FD, with an apexi intake.

Firstly i used a plastic wine bottle cork to block the hole in the back of the intake(cut down to size and duct taped!)

Secondly, insted of buying an expensive metal mounting flange for the BOV, i noticed that the shape of the base of the BOV is the same shape as a ford focus thermostat mount! a bit of drilling and an old pipe off my S15 and i had a perfect fit! the thermostat mount from ford only cost me 7 quid!

My most sucsessful boj 2date!!;) ;)

not a problem mate.
Spoke to Clive today and he\'s talking to suppliers about the hoses I need then I\'ll get it all sorted.  It\'s all in place already just need the hose to connect up.

I\'ve got a walking stick boot that I think will be a nice tight fit to the pipe that needs blocked but if I\'m wrong then a cork in a short piece of hose will be the way to go with a jubilee clip holding it nice and tightly blocked.
