Hi, there is a nice RX7 on ebay that I\'ve seen (item number 4532502966) It is only at £100 so whats wrong with it? I went to see it and it looks very solid and sounds nice. The battery was flat so it needed jump leads but other than that was ok. Is this a good model to buy? Thanks.
I don\'t know anything about this exact car but for one with 125K miles on the clock I would want to know :
1) if the engine has ever been rebuilt
2) if there is every any white smoke from the exhaust
3) does it every have problems starting when it\'s hot (in other words, flooding).
If the engine has not been rebuilt by now then there is a good chance it will need it. If the answer to 2 or 3 is yes then this is an indication for the need of a rebuild.
Suggest you ask him these questions via ebay and let us know what he says.
Having said that, for £100 I wouldn\'t expect it to be perfect....
He doesn\'t know if the engine has been rebuilt (honest i suppose!) but it does have a service history and it starts up fine when hot because I started it from cold (jump leads) and drove it around until warm then stopped and started it again when I got back to see if the battery had charged. (it had!) So if it starts ok does that mean it is ok or still may need rebuild? Sorry but I don\'t know much about mechanical bits!
