Title: Fuel question
Post by: rxangus on March 04, 2005, 08:32:10 AM
Hi,

Sorry if this is a dumb question....

I\'m heading over to the west coast of Scotland in a few weeks and I don\'t think there is any Optimax/Super type high octane fuel available over there.

Car is a \'96 RB and fairly standard although hopefully I will have a Power FC fitted by then.

What  should I do for fuel? Is octane booster a bad idea?

Thanks

Angus

I was wondering about that too. Can you only get by with optimax/super unleaded? What effect will it have on the engine if you just use 95 instead of 98?? (in a 3rd gen rex)

with weather like this you are not exactly going to hearing the buzzer, so dont worry, fill up with super thats still about 97 ron, you will be fine.

what would happen if you just used regular 95 ron unleaded?

If at any time you cannot get the higher octane fuel for your car, then have to put a lower one in, just drive the car on light throttle and low boost until you can fill it up again with the higher.

If you are concerned you could always order some feul booster, and keep in boot.
