Title: 40-70 anyone??
Post by: andrewrx7 on March 03, 2005, 10:17:07 AM
Just been reading some stuff about the sequential turbos, and came across the 40-70 acceleration test.

Has anyone done this (with a stopwatch) and what times have you got?

As a bit of fun (read “fun” â€" I appreciate there will be arguments for/against!), anyone want to have a go and post their times?

Basic method â€" straight road, hit WOT in 3rd at around 35, and time the 40-70 sprint. Do a couple of runs to average out! Simple â€" doesn’t rely on driver skills etc (apart from using a stopwatch!).

If anyone wants to join in, I’ll start â€"

3.51 and 3.6s
Av = 3.55s

A useful bench mark figure, since this is a completely stock 2002 RX7, a 280bhp model, 5k miles.

I hope I’m not going to be the only one who posts!!
:D

Boffins reckon you need 6 runs to have a representative average...

I\'ll try it in 2nd in the 8 just for comparison ;)
