Title: problem with single din in the lower space?
Post by: bandwidthbandit on February 28, 2005, 12:43:40 PM
I\'m planning on taking out the double din stereo that my Rx is coming with and fitting a single din into the LOWER space.

I\'ve done a search on this already and it seems that most people have used the top space.

Is there a known problem with using the lower space?  I want to use the lower space because the unit i want to get will have a motorized screen and i don\'t want it blocking the hazard lights when its up.

any thoughts appreciated.

I have mine installed in the lower slot.  No problems with installation etc.  The only thing I can think of would be the gearstick getting slightly in the way of your button pressing - although I change mine without looking so cant see a problem.

I have a motorized screen on mine and found that in the lower slot it did not clear the gearstick properly, so i had to use the upper slot and still only just clears the stick and handbreak.

But unless you do have clearance issues can\'t see any reason why you can\'t use the bottom slot! :)
