Title: Turbo timer?
Post by: Efini_Llew on February 27, 2005, 04:51:53 PM
I\'m thinking of getting a turbo timer - but is it worth it? And how easy are they to fit? Also, which would be the best one to go for??? Cheers:)

As far as I\'ve been told they help cool your turbos down after a good blast , stops the hot oil just lying in them , I\'ve got an old one with wiring harness for an FD if your interested , had it removed when I had my alarm fitted , didn\'t need it as the alarm has a turbo timer function , not sure how it wires in though

Much better to cool the car properly by driving off boost and otherwise gently for the last couple of minutes. This also has the advantage you cool the brakes and cats and all that other good stuff properly as well.

There\'s not a whole lot of oil pressure at idle, after all, and rotaries don\'t like idle anyway!
