Title: RE Amemiya \'92 Rex
Post by: D2BBA on February 26, 2005, 11:14:47 AM
Hi Folks!

I\'m a bit new to this so please bear with me!

Just bought an RX7 \'92 import.  :D

She\'s wearing a rare  RE Amemiya AC037 kit on the front with FRP bonnet.  Unknown side skirts and rear spolier.  A few guages in the interior with the full dark red leather.  Engine is stock save for a GReddy boost control (set to 0 at the mo!)

I would like a bit of advise on basic tuning and a specialsit within the NE of England (or close) if someone could point me to the right section of the forum.

But first heres a quick photo taken on the boat!:

p.s. anyone got an idea which model she is, it doesnt seem to fit the guide as it has the full leather, strut braces, AC but no sunroof???

Hmmmm.....im stuck on which model it is aswell

Could be a type-r with the red leather in from the other models.

Tuning wise, i think the most northern rotary tuners are wgt in cheshire.

But anyway, welcome, and look forward to see you at some shows.

Cheers,

Dan!!:wave

yeah Pip is your man http://www.wgtautodevelopments.co.uk/ (http://www.wgtautodevelopments.co.uk/) i know many folks will say they dont like that particular RE front end but i think it\'s fruity & i always like seeing something a bit different it\'s part of what makes the scene so interesting so i look forward to seeing you bring it to the shows
erm gawdknows about model but wouldn\'t read too much into the leather etc (unless it\'s obviously standard stuff) as all these can be later additions....

Hiya, you have:

RE Amemiya AC037 front end
RE Amemiya AD step D1 side skirts
RE Amemiya AD Front Fenders
99 Spec rear spoiler with Carbon insert (I think)

Sounds like it\'s a Type R, to be sure check for two oil coolers either side of the radiator.

No probs mate!

I\'d stick with Type-R as it fits the spec. Don\'t forget to post up some pics when she arrives!!;)

Yep,

Here\'s the point where you probably tell me I should have researched a bit more, but I new I wanted the kit and they didn\'t seem to know the value!

Do you have any more info on the car or the place that I should know guv?

Failing that can you recommend anyone in the northeast for tuning or re-builds?:)

cheers

Err.... no mate !!! were kinda knackered in the north east for anything like that !! (possibly jimmys ) but im stickin with the ones that are well recommended (wgt /re worx etc) which are unfortunately a fair drive :(

was the dark blue single turbo still in there when you got yours ??

Yeah,

Single turbo blue RX was still there.  They had her in the workshop and took me into see it before I test drove the yellow number.  It was clean enough but only had the cloth interior and I was a bit dubious about buying something so highly tuned without the history!!!

cheers
