Hi all, can anyone help me?
I have a MK2 with the 13" wheels and want to get some nice new 15" wheels, what PCD and offset do I need to look at?
Where can I get upgraded discs and rear suspension, apparently Koni do fronts but not backs?
Any help would be gratefully received!
Thanks guys, I want to get the car "done up" a bit, although it passed its MOT no worries, but advice from the Mechanic said that there is rust on the Suspension and could do with being replaced....
You could always track down the diff from a series 3 1st gen, they have disc brakes from the factory. However the stud pattern is different from the series 2 I think. Have a look in the for sale section on this site coz there is a guy selling 2 fb\'s. Might have the right rear end for you. Otherwise ring around some of the vendors advertised above. carl Hayward seems to ring a bell for having wrecked a series 3 in the past.? (as aways am happy to be corrected if wrong)
Cant help out with the rear suspension thing though. Good luck and lets see some pictures of it!
cheers, michael.
hi hope helps
rx7 mk/ series 1 and 2 both 1st generation have
pcd 110mm series 1 drum brakes series 2 has solid disc brakes
series 1 and 2 diff face to face same length
also series 2 bolt straight into series 1 memory possible brake hose thread pitch different
both axles 24 spline diff head flange same
mk/series 3 pcd 114.3mm but diff is wider so has front wheel drive offset
can bolt into series 1/2
axles 26 spline diff head flange bigger pcd
also has vented disc brakes
hope you didnt fall asleep :)
Hi thanks for that its an 83Y so I guess a MK2, which will have a PCD of 110mm? But what about the offset? What is that all about? Hmm I want to replace the stock 13" with 15".
Guess I could also measure the wheels I have!
Many thanks for your time, but any other advice would be received with gratefulness.
howzit
quick note :)
rx7 mk/series 1 and 2 have factory threaded holes in the hubs as series 3 have studs another way to check :)
pcd forgot to say how to measure
measure from the centre of one hole/stud diagonal to centre of the same and thats your pcd :)
offset rear wheel drives are usual between 5-10 P or ET (which is measured in mm)
P or ET is used for saying offset depending which country
so look on inside of rim for that
offset / front wheel drives vary between 20-60
thats measured from the centre of your rim to the face of the mounting part of your rim :)
series 1/2 in nz hard to find mags cause of pcd but series 3 easy as were common pcd and front wheel drive offset :)
hope helps
Thanks for your advice!:D
I have a series 3 im breaking if you want the diff not sure on postage though as im in northants.
