Post by: fatfingers on February 19, 2005, 08:18:54 PM
Just had a straight through exhaust fitted to my T2, it sounds amazing but it\'s just too loud!, but when I fit the baffle it really saps the power  :(

Can you get bigger baffles? or any other sudgestions?

Cheers Chaps

Come on, some of you must have some thoughts on this.  Do any of you gave a straight through turbo back exhaust? are you using a baffle? what size is the small end of the baffle?

Rob.

I drive with a single straight through.  I have been driving with a 3.5 inch baffle but this weekend it comes out and let the flames begin.

Yes it will be loud, ease off the loud pedal if u see the pigs.

The only thing that bothers me is starting it from cold when it ticks over at 3k!!! if only the baffle was easier to remove, mines a tight bugger!!!!:reallymad

FF

Why did you go for a straight through pipe set up?

 What mods are you running?

It was an ebay bargain!! no mods yet, just a FCD.

Going to hayward and scott this morning to get a bigger tailpipe baffle made, this will hopfully be a good comprimise between boost & noise!!

E-bay bargains are always good..........

I am presently researching a full system for my project.

It will have non restrictive silencers on though as I do not want too much noise.......

Got a few options already, but taking it in for a quote on a custom made set up.  I may want an option on the turbo flange!

I agree with the others, if you can get out of the car and your ears aren\'t ringing too bad, then you are doing well.

I have run a few cars with big straight thru exhausts, and a couple with bungs in.

Run it without the bung, you know they suck.
Why buy a larger diameter exhaust just to choke it at the exit.

If you go on a long run, then stick it in there, i found my car was a big odd when it was bungged up about 110mph+ it would choke and you had to let off the throttle a bit until you got past that area, then it was smooth sailing again.
