HELP

Started the car this morning.
Idling at 3-400 rpm
Loads of smoke ( petrol burning in the exhaust !!!! )
Banging and popping liek a demon
Drives with sporadic throttle

I took it to my local garage I used for servicing. Good guy, rally mechanic.

He says its over fueling like crazy

And ideas before he starts to strip it !!!!!!

try resetting the ecu:
disconnect the battery and hold the brake pedal down for 10 - 15 seconds. Then reconnect the battery

Can you tell us anything about what happened before the problem arose?

Had you changed the oil, coolant, spark plugs, or anything right before the problem started? Any new\'ish modifications?

Its ok when cold? was it ok when cold be ecu reset? Sounds unlikely but check the map sensor is still connected (little black widget on the bulk head behind and just to the right of the plenum).

Well mostly good news.

ECU reset
Air Temp Sensor replaced.

Now running sweet as a nut :D:D

But I now have the same boost problem as a few people on here
Gentle throttle no problems, hard throttle its like hitting a brickwall :(. So it will be a visit to a specialist RX tuner next month to hopefully cure the problem :D

Thanks to all the peeps who offered advise
