Has anyone fitted a flamer kit to thier FD, all the kits i can find seem to have to be cut into ignition wire etc to get unburned fuel into the exhaust, but as the rx runs rich do i need to wire it all up to the ignition or will there be enough unburned fuel in the exhaust anyway?

Don\'t bother mate , I\'ve been told that if your car is decatted you can shoot real flames without a flamer kit , save your money for performance goodies
petrol + matches!!!!!!!! :rollin
I consider flamer kits to be a very worthwhile performance mod....
And my name is bibble ;)

I am a bit relauctant to stick my neck out here as I know what most people think, but (...gulp) I have just fitted one to my decat. I have located the plug just in front of the the silencer section. It flamed naturally before, but it now looks like the back of the car is on fire with it switched on (huge flames for 5-10 seconds!!), really good results and I am very pleased with it.
have it tuned a little rich and you won\'t even need to spend money on that kit.. ;-)
oh believe me buddy, mine is running very, very rich. But now i can have much bigger flames whenever i want them.. and for longer too.. :)
what kit did you use could you explain in more detail? I think spagram mean a flamer kit like ahem evryones favourite film "The fast and the furious"
Anyways mine shoots smallish flames/sparks out of the exhaust when warm but these are at very high revs 7000ish and you have to pop the accl abit aswell!

did it have to be wired into the ignition or is it just a spark plug & coil?
cheers
just a plug, coil, control box and switch.
no need to touch the ignition, drill a hole in you backbox  for the plug taking the feed from the rear lights, and that\'s it. All components were sourced from Maplins except for the Ht lead which had to be taylor made by magnecor as a stock one was too short. Hope this helps.
Flamer kits
whatever next :D
dont you need a coil pack?

Yes, as mentioned earlier all you need is a plug, coil, control box and switch.
You can shoot flames if you have a PFC, midpipe, downpipe etc.
If you have the commander, go into the rev/rpm section and turn your decel air up 1000 rpm\'s or so in each area(no electrical/no ac, electrical load/no ac,electrical load/AC) and that should help your car out as far as shooting flames without messing with your map.
No real need for a flamer kit.
do you hav part numbers for flamer kit control box from maplins or what is was called?
