depends how cheap they are. if you want bigger wheels buy bigger wheels. youll only end up kicking yourself if you decide you made the wrong decision later on.

im guessing but 255/265 should fit

i think fd\'s have a 50mm ofset. 40mm offset will put the wheels out to the arch by 10mm. they will fit though

Sorry, but both FCs and FDs have ET40 (offset).
I am not  100% sure that the RX-8 has ET40 too.

i read on one of the american fc site\'s a long time ago that the fc was 35mm.

the fd is definatly not the same as the fc as there is a hub adapter for a fc with fd wheels to get the fd wheels to sit further out. so im farly sure they are 50mm.

just to satisfy my need to know i have just took a wheel off to check and guess what.

offset of 40 should be okay, rear certainly no problem, front should be fine.

225/40 R 18 will mean a 0.95% increase in diameter so your speedo will be showing about 3% less than the speed your doing.

245/35 R 18 would mean a 0.32% decrease in diameter so your speedo would be about 1% more than actual speed.

I\'d go for the 245\'s bud but check tyre prices for 18\'s if cash is an issue - the tyre price increase from 17" rims to 18" rims is pretty significant.

HTH - you can check other sizes here (http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html)

Regarding the FC3S offset you found it by yourself.
Just look what Rays Wheels (Volk Racing) gives for the FD3S and the SE3P. The +40 is the offset.
