Oh and what about fitting the centre section of your rear wing in carbon fibre? Would match both the bonnet and also the door handles ? Just a thought, anyone agree?
Nice car though mate.

Hi mate, I bought the tail lights off a dealer in the states through ebay for £120 which is amazing value. The finish is excellent but the fit is not as good as the genuine Mazda part. I also needed to change the tail bulbs for led\'s and the indicator bulbs for orange ones because of the clear glass.
Looking good lawrence......like the white carbon combo.....looks fantastic.
Dan!!
Hi Jin ;)
Car is looking really nice ! actually, I have just got those rearlights myself (they are awsome !) and are about to install them soon. Was it a tough job ? did they fit without problems ? did\'nt you get the center section with them ? if, why hav\'ent you installed it ? allso, mine came without any bulbs, will I have to buy new bulbs ? if, which type ? does it have to be amber (blinkers)/red light bulbs ? hope you can answer me, thank\'s a lot.

Hi Renè
Thanks for your comments. Your tail lights will be easy to fit, they are a straight replacement.
As my doppleganger said on http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12783&highlight=ren%E9 you will need 380 and 382 bulbs for the correct pin offset, although really you can just use your existing brake/ tail bulbs and get amber indicator bulbs. It\'s personal taste, but i don\'t like the centre section replacement much, preferring just the lights being replaced.
Hey Renè
Where did you get your lights from, as I\'d want the centre section too!
Many thanks
Hey Simon ;O)
I got mine from //www.vertexracing.com it is an E-bay store allso, so I was "the winner" for the very good price (I think) at 195 dollar :D
Renè
thats a damn sexy car!! did you get it imported with that kit or did you get it all from nem nem;) and do it yourself
i think the c2 kit is the sexiest kit you can get for a FD by far which is why i wanted one but i waited and waited for 4 months but i didnt find one so i got my GTC instead...a few months after i got mine one came on the market! a full c2 veilside with a c1 spoiler and t78, which was the exact spec i had been after!!! aaaaaaaaaawwwwww if only

Hi mate
I originally owned a stock FD and wanted the C2 kit and was thinking about going single too...until I discovered the cost of a genuine C2 kit, so I sold my FD and sourced this one through Newera Imports as it had the bodykit and a TD06 on it was just what I was looking for and I had to have it :)

My first love!
Hi Jin, am loving those tail lights....and the LED bulbs are the icing on the cake! Did you get them off \'neondials\' on ebay? When you say the fit isn\'t as good as the mazda originals, how far off are they?

Hi mate, yes that\'s the guy I got them off. With reference to the fit, on one of the tail lights, where it curves around on the corner it does not sit flush and is about 3-4mm proud of the bodywork. Not immediately apparent and probably wouldn\'t bother or even get noticed by most people, but I am a bit fussy! That said, it could very well be my car that is wonky..
I know what you mean mate, something like that would annoy the hell out of me too. I\'ve got the \'99 spec lights on mine & quite like them but I recon I\'m gonna take a chance on these.
And now a full respray!
After a month in the bodyshop, my car finally came out last week.
The surfaces were flatbacked followed by the a white ground coat and then 4 coats of colour (4.5 litres) and 3 clear coats.
There was initially a problem with the new paint reacting with the old ground coat which could have meant taking the surfaces back to the metal, but a rub down of the affected areas and further coats cured the problem.
I am pleased with the end results and I think it doesn\'t look too lary. I wanted a more pale/ translusent colour as so many people go for aggressive colours so I wanted go for something a bit different. I took this photo at sunset to try and bring out the vivid gold from the blue.

That is one lovely car mate. Top notch. :)
How come if you live in Guildford that i\'ve never seen you about!?!? Will have to keep an extra big eye out for you now, not that you wont stand out enough anyway in that :rollin
Where did you get the spray job done by the way? Thinking of maybe having some work done myself and looking to find someone good in the area.
Are you going to Rotorstock? Some guys are meeting up at J11 ofthe M25 early saturday morning if your interested.
I like them in White very rare but this colour looks awsome mate looks very nice with the kit....:cool
Are you bringing her to R2? will be good to in flash.
cheers
Phwooooar! That colour is perfect for the RX-7, makes it look really exotic.
Thanks for all your kind comments guys, I have committed alot of time and money into this car to get it looking how it is.
Ada7, the work was carried out at a bodyshop in Milford tel no 01483 424911.
I tend to take the car out at night when there are less idiots on the road (it\'s not a daily drive) which may be why you haven\'t seen me about.
I will be at R11 but plan on joining the Monday convoy although I am pondering with the idea of going up Sunday afternoon and camping there.
Brill job Jin,
Looks very very nice :D
Gurj
thanks bud, I\'m following in your footsteps and had a shoot for JP yesterday ;)

Thanks for the number mate. I actually live in Milford so great to know there\'s somewhere that close to me :rollin
Be cool to see you around town some day. Will try and say hi at Rotorstock if your about. I\'m fairly new to all this kinda thing and will be cool to know what good garages and stuff there is about locally for me to use and get parts from
Adam
I remember having a brief exchange with an Adam in a black FD a while ago in Guildford near the train station , while I was washing the car. Was that you by any chance?

Great stuff, more rotaries in there the better, no one likes seeing Scoobies every month
Apart from Scooban :rollin :rollin :rollin
No mate. dont think that was me.
There is another black Fd similar to mine in Guildford near 1 of the stations. Wierd if there\'s 2 Adam\'s both with Black Fd\'s in town. Should start our own club. :rollin Would only be small though im sure!! :rollin
Well done for you magazine write up. :)
Adam
PERFECT..JUST PERFECT..VERY NICE JIN..WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING!
I BET THE COLOUR LOOKS MORE TRICK IN THE FLESH.
looking sweet m8 i fitted same rear lights to mine , one sugestion seal then up mine suffer from bad condensation , :(
Yes..same here, but only on one side though. What have you used to seal them?
Nice respray mate, how much did that cost?
yeah..mine are the exact same as yours and my passenger side light unit steams up real bad..its a pain in the ass to get rid of as well..to get rid you need to take the unit off the car and let it just evaporate..then i used silicone sealent all the way round the back of the unit to seal..have had no condensation yet fingers crossed.
Saw you on the A322 on monday! Car looks even more breathtaking on the move, awesome piece of kit.
Jin,
Saw the car at R2 very very nice, job well done buddy.
Funny though while i was there couldn\'t for the life of me remember who\'s car it was !!!
Gurj:wave
Thanks Millsy... and thanks Gurj!
I really appreciate all the feedback from everyone so far :) as it confirms I am getting it right.
Style and is important to me and I believe it is something of a balancing act, which can so easily turn into a dogs dinner!
Hi mate. Got to see your car at Rotorsack as was really impressed with it. The pictures dont do it any justice. You said you got the work done in Milford. CAn you tell me the name of the place that did it for you. cheers
Adam
No problem mate.
Mick Jolly Bodyshop 01483 424911.
He is right next to Milford station.
Thanks mate. Just out of interest, roughly how much did it cost you to have done. Did you strip the car down at all or was it a spary over job. I know you\'ve said that the paint was a lot, so i\'m sure it would be a bit cheaper if i was to get mine done in a basic colour. Cheers
Adam
Total price was just under £3k.
This included taking the front and rear bumbers and bodykit off, repairing a shoddy Japanese door panel repair, flatbacking all surfaces followed by a white ground coat and then 4 coats of colour (4.5 litres) and 3 clear coats. He also did a bit of steel fabrication on my subframes too.
I should think you would be looking at around £1200 (probably alot less) for a respray in your existing colour of Black.
Thanks again. Will have to start saving. Or maybe I could sell a kidney on ebay :rollin
