Ok, turns out I need some new bushes at the rear of the RX. 6 in total, and each one ranges between £45-60 each!! Is there anywhere I can get them for a better price? Or are there uprated ones available? At least spending that sort of money on bushes will feel better if im improving the car!!
Need to find out asap as it is at a garage now and I need to make a decision.
i think re worx do a complete set but is going to hurt ur wallet try a quick look on rx7store.net or rotary extreme they might overnight courier u some most things in the states are cheaper as usual
i found some for the 2nd gen - was about 45 to get them
hang on ..

these are for the 1990 model
cant seem to find any 3rd gen ones though :(
The FD\'s suspension has a little more finess than the FC\'s - at a cost.
FD OEM bushes are generally excellent new, Mazda charged about 40-50 each I think.
Bushes - Are we talking about Polyurethane thingy me bobs ?? 45 quid seems a hell ova lot
No, not poly... !!! Ive talked to a few people and it seems the standard ones are considered the best. Only thing being they cost between £45 - £60 + VAT!! :O :O :O Oh, and then you have to get them fitted!

if you are refering to what i said - then at 45 - thats a FULL Set :)
i\'m in exactly the same boat, only quote i\'ve had is the same at £50 each plus vat. At which i showed my inferior mechanical knowledge by saying well that\'s the cheapest thing for a rex i\'ve seen so far (thinking there was one on each side). To which they replied "there\'s six in all".
Walked off kicking my heels and whistling..... (should have known better by now)
Yup, £50 a piece or thereabouts. There is a reason though, they\'re all proper quality spherical bearings (or pillow balls if you\'re new skool ;) )
This is a really interesting topic, as I find myself in the same situation. I think it\'s rx7store.net that stock the "Unobtanium" bushing kit, these are nylon so different to stock. Be warned though, their whole kit won\'t replace the whole of the bushes on your car. I worked out the price of using all Mazda parts and using the Unobtanium kit plus the rest with Mazda parts. There was about £100 price difference in favour of using a mix. To replace all bushes with OEM replacements (including front drop links, VAT, shipping and import tax to UK) would cost around £1,300 from Mazdatrix (maybe a little less with current favourable USD exchange rates).
I would suggets that prices over here are well steep. I don\'t know why, but you could buy original OEM jobs from Mazdatrix for a good deal less.
It seems quite a lot of people are in this boat, perhaps a group buy could be arranged if anyone else is up for it?

Spotlamp - do you have a detailed breakdown of the bushes you are including in your price?
Grinder - Your referring to Gen 2 if I\'m reading correctly but the Gen 3\'s are 45-60 a piece and you need 6 for the rear

thats what i came arross whist having a nosey round the net - clicky on the link and you will see what it comes with
if i was to buy the same set in the Uk you are looking at about £300
i thought you maybe able to pick up a set of FD ones for a similar price
not to worry

On the 3rd Gen there are 20 bushes in total on the rear alone!! :O (if I remember what they told me at Rotecniks correctly)

If you guys are looking for the bushes for upper arm, lower arm, trailing arm and towlink then i\'ve got them already with bushes on. They are second hand but in good condition, came off me old car that i am breaking for parts.
I will be posting more pictures and parts for sale tomorrow with pics.

Oh, and im not looking for £40--60 + VAT for them...;) ;)

I haven\'t got my notes that I made here, but off the top of the head the details are as follows:
Unobtanium kit consists of:
Rear Suspension Upper control arm - inner bush (2 on each side)
Upper control arm - suspension/shock bush
Lower control arm - inner bush (1 on each side)
Front Suspension Upper control arm - inner bush (2 on each side)
Lower control arm - inner bush (2 on each side)
*Can\'t remember whether it\'s got the shock bush for the front)
Diff Diff bush (2)
The other parts were Mazda and were...
Rear Suspension Upper control arm - outer bush (1 on each side)
Lower control arm - outer bush (1 on each side)
Lower control arm - trailing arm bush (1 on each side)
Trailing arm - Front bush (1 on each side)
Toe link - Inner bush (1 on each side)
Toe link - Outer bush (1 on each side)
Front Suspension Complete drop links (1 on each side)
Using parts of Mazdatrix and rx7store.net it\'ll cost around £1.3k. I seriously doubt all of them would need replacing, but for the cost I was thinking what the hell. It\'s either refresh the entire suspension and make the bugger handle, or pay for a couple of decent 18" wheels :D
Im just about to order some bushes for mine.
Only need 2 (after mazda said I needed 4 and handed me a pic with 5 circled!! LOL!!)
You can fit them yourself if you have access to a hydraulic press but most places will charge you around £50 to fit PER BUSH!!!
I have also heard that you really cant buy a better performing bush than the OE one and they range from miniumn £42 + vat.
Just for info my 2 bushes will cost me £120
Just out of curiosity, which 2 are you replacing?
Cheers

Dont know the names of them im afraid (helpfull man at the garage helped me!
If its any good to you :(stuipid mode.....!)
As you look at the car from the rear there is a suspension part coming up diagonally from middle of hub (LHS) to middle of car where there is a large bush - I think its the Toe link bush??
The other one is on the left rear but dont. Not sure if it will work but here is a pic of the suspension with the 2 parts in red circle...

Feed, Mazdaspeed, Cusco, AutoSTAF, R-Magic and RE Amemiya all do various bushe and collar sets although I imagine there a fortune with shipping to the UK.
I\'d like to replace my toe links and control arms along with some uprated body stiffeners, tower bars and anti-roll bars - oh and a full roll cage.... that\'d be nice!!
Theres always something you need for you 7!!
Here is a proper of the ones I is gonna be replacing
The one that looks clean (as we couldnt see for the gunk!)

Ever the great mechanic, I cant remember which on it is here. Its either the one nearer to the wheel or there is one right behind it!!
Also, what are all those black marks over the metal? I have had all the wheels off (never seen any so bad!!) to give them a bloody good clean and I thought they where tar spots but thre all up the suspension??
