Title: Sorry dear, I cant hear you...
Post by: Top_gear_towers on February 03, 2005, 03:08:31 PM
Hola all,

Does anyone have active subs in thier boot?

You know, the ones with the amp attached - usually 10".

I\'ve got a rear shelf, and want an active sub that is small but noisy that can sit in the boot under the shelf.

And before the ICE Overlords flame me - I spent thousands putting custom twin 10" subs in my MR2 only to lose it all.

Car sounds great, just needs a wee bit more base - but not enough to annoy the weight, and something that could be taken out.

Any advice, pics and general mental wanderings welcome :)

GTG or TGT or just Rowly

Hi,
You want an Infinity Basslink X.  Lovely little active sub which crates some SERIOUS bass for its size.  Fits perfectly, easy to take out and you can pick it up for about £140 if you look around.
cheers  :D

Hey TGT,
No, sorry.  Thats the one thing I never thought of photographing.  It fits very snugly in the left hand corner behind the rear \'seats\' and under the parcel shelf and the wiring can then be fed off under the rear \'seats\' or bins and so kept out of sight.  It doesnt even take up a quarter of the boot, yet the bass it kicks out is astonishing.  Its pretty crisp and punchy for dance music etc. but also handles low long bass extremely well.  I love Linkin Park so it kinda had to do both!  ;)

No worries, glad to be able to help.  I know there are ads in the back of Max and Fast Car which have this on special offer for around the £120 - £140 mark so £122 is a pretty good buy.  I\'m sure you\'re gonna love it.

cheers

Ben,

I\'ll buy it off you for £80 mate.

As long as its the Infinity basslink we\'re talking about on this thread.

Your in Essex? I\'m happy to drive over (I\'m in West London) and collect for cash!

Was just about to buy a new one for £122, so am biting your arm off!

Unless of course Iain has PM\'d you already :(
