Helloooo....
My sunroof motor runs but does not move the actual door, suspect the motor gear worn out and just slipping on the actuating cables to run the door.... I assume this is the set up(normally is this type) and also hope it\'s just the motor or gear that needs replacing instead of a busted/broken worn cable assembly as it would probably be cheaper and less hassel...
Anyone with experience of this problem as I believe it\'s a common problem with these electric sun roofs!
I\'m hoping to strip it down for assessment sometime this weekend..
Any tips, pointers or advice welcome.......:yes
Oh, I can\'t seem to get the bleeding gear knob off!! :reallymad
Got a sweet MoMo one to slap on, but can\'t for hell remove the original................
Ta.
does the motor work if you physically lift the sunroof panel while pressing the button? If so then it is a common fault, the roof panel is a bit too heavy for the motor which loses the will to live over time.
Gear knob? No art to it, it is just screwed on so try a bit of WD40!
Sadgoth
Thanks for the reply;)
I had to trawl through all the other replies and tumbleweed to find it though.....
Anyway, stripped down the whole lot and figured out the problem. It\'s not the motor, as I said it runs grand.... I got another motor and that too runs good....
It\'s the bit that the motor goes into to that is broken and causing the cables to expand off the motor gear.
I took some photos of the strip down, motor, cables and problems... can\'t post em up as I\'ll have to drop my \'firewall\' to pop pics as this site forum seems to be rather unsecure and keeps trying to send me kak.
Anyway, there don\'t seem to be anyone in these forums anyway... like a \'gHoSt ToWn\'... :bandit
