We are looking at stocking these quality spark plugs in the future.
I am interested in any opinions that forum Members here may have on them.
So, what\'s your opinion on them?
Are they good?
What sort of price would be attractive for a set of 4?
Thanks in advance for any feedback that you have.
Cheers
Simon
are these just standard RX8 plugs or would you be looking to stock other plugs for other RX\'s ?
Price rather depends on the heat range, RX7 plugs vary from about £4 to about £25...
Are the HKS plugs re-badged Denso\'s? if so I will leave Clive to comment on them?!
Mazda use NGK, me too :)
what the matter hks couldnt sell there own plugs, or no 1 wanted them.come on clive what happend,
Cheers ~ Couldn\'t remember who made the Mazda ones. the first time I bought plugs from Mazda they came in NGK boxes and the last time I bought some they came in Mazda ones
Last time I bought some from Mazda for my 12A (about 12 months ago) they came in Mazda boxes and were Denso plugs.

Think the HKS plugs are responsible for the demise of 3-4 engines in the last few years, one being gary gooding\'s but dont quote me on that.
Im sure Clive will shed some light in this though.
Heres some info on different plugs;

I know Wav is running the Denso iridum plugs on his fd. Prehaps he could comment.

Hi Simon,
Whilst Denso make good quality plugs and are OK in millions of cars around the world, with what l now l would only recomend to my customers with Gen 1 RX-7\'s that they fit Denso in their Rotarys
My company is an official Authorised Denso Distributor and a couple of years ago we were about to put in a £1500 order to Japan for various plugs to fit the Gen 3 RX-7 till we found out what I have listed below from this thread !.
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11407&highlight=denso+plugs
Denso make HKS and Blitz and just badge them accordingly (this is official) , and my advise is now to people NEVER EVER fit these Iridium plugs in a Rotary as l have known two people loose tips and have engines destroyed because of the end falling off the plug!!
Denso were naturaly not willing to discuss this but NGK are awear of their problem and know what causes it,
Combustion Fequency shatters the Denso/HKS/Bitz plugs.
NGK have never had this problem.
Thanks Clive, I had heard this.
So NGK is the way to go then?
Cheers
Simon
No Worry\'s Simon,
The last thing l would want is for an engine to die due to the wrong plug, or you to waste your money like l almost did, NGK it is then :)
We\'ll have to see which way to go as I don\'t want to carry more than 5k stock at the most.
Interestingly the Supra and Integra boys swear by them. They seem to work more effectively in different cars.

It\'s only ever been Rotarys that have suffered from this problem.
Apologies for ressurecting this old thread, but I was wondering....are the HKS Platinum plugs ok? I did have HKS F40RE plugs leading and F45RE\'s trailing. When I saw the HKS badge I assumed they were iridium plugs and immediately swapped them for NGK BUR7EQP\'s and BUR9EQP\'s. The HKS plugs can\'t have done many miles and have cleaned up nicely, are they worth hanging on to for spares or are they better off in the bin?!
No Worrys about this being an old thread.
The info I had surrounded Denso plugs in Rotary Turbo\'s, I know they were OK in the old skool carburettor cars though but they were not subject to the pressure that Turbo\'s bring to the combustion area.
One of the cars that I know of that lost a tip through a Denso was off boost at the time so if it were me I don\'t take the risk even as spares.
Hope this helps
Cheers Clive. Thought the platinum ones might\'ve been ok, but like you say it\'s not even worth taking the risk!
HKS plugs are in fact made by Denso, look at them carefully they have Denso stamped on them.
Cheers
Simon
Nope, no sign of any Denso badging, just "MADE IN USA"?
Yep, HKS plugs are made by Denso.
hth :)
