howstuffworks .com or somthing like that has a very good section on the rotary engine + lots of good links + recomendations for good reference books

Theres aslo a website called the illustrated rotary engine that was very very good but I can\'t find the link

As for books, I don\'t have any on rotary\'s alone but the Brian Longs book  RX7 mazda\'s rotary sports car is very good :)

I think its published by veloce but amazon is cheaper :D

Hi mate!

Yes - great idea, it really will show you how these things work.  It was one of my first introductions to the engine.

I purchased a dead engine from a friend of mine for $100 in Sydney about 12 years ago - I understood it so much more after that.

You could phone around some of the rotary workshops and get them to send you one, shouldn\'t cost you too much?

Jason You can order the Haynes (US soft back) from Halfords about
£14ish, book no- 61036(1419) this covers \'all\' models 86-91
some good diags taken from O.E.M. service manual, but you
can download the O.E.M. s.m. from the net took me about a day
though.
Hope this helps Paul..
