Title: finding local specialists? (sheffield)
Post by: mattsteadz on January 22, 2005, 09:24:32 AM
Hi there, my first day of RX ownership :-) it\'s a gen 3 TT (1993) , I got it at a good price, but only because it needs a few things...the only question is where can I get them done?

Is there a list on this forum of reccomended garages and specialists, I\'m up in Sheffield, so anyone around here would be great.
Initially what I want is a clutch (which one? fairly standard car to be used for 50 / 50 road and track) Got a paddle one at the mo\' but it slips when 2nd turbo comes in.
Should I just buy one and get local Mr Clutch to fit it? (please say no)

Also want to get it set up on a rolling road type thing as don\'t want any misfuelling to knacker engine.

Basically where do you all go up North?

Thanks.

Matt.

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Rx-7 ownership!

Your best bet would be to head over the Pennines to Northwich where WGT are based. I\'ve been taking mine there for over 4 years and to be honest I wouldn\'t take it anywhere else. Phone number is 01606 48866, speak to Pip.

an added bonus is you\'ll have an excuse to drive the Snake Pass twice!

cheers,

Steve

Thanks for that, the car came with a few reciepts from WGT, so He\'ll probably say, "Oh God, not that one again!!!"

Which clutch is the only question?

I\'d be pretty confident getting it RR and setup at John Noble Motorosport in Chesterfield. Check the meets section theres an RX RR day there in Feb.

Also are you bringing it down to the Midlands meet in Derby this coming Sunday.

Rich :)

Thanks for the invite on Sunday, I wont be there though unless I can get a new clutch in, I don\'t want to drive it knowing there is something wrong. I\'ll be on to john noble once that is done, didn\'t know he was well up on RX\'s.

neither did i? i know they do RR tuning & i recall folks (maybe another RR) saying they are willing to do RX7\'s but personally i\'d rather get a rotary experianced tuner to do it.....
