Title: FC3S info required please
Post by: Jit on January 20, 2005, 08:37:57 PM
Hi,

Im looking into buying a project car and its either gonna be a FC3S thats running or an FD3S and then get a blown engine rebuilt.

However, theres a few questions i have....i tried using the search facility but my computers too damn slow..... and the pages take ages to load up and the silly thing keeps crashing!:)

basically, im guessing that the FC weighs less than the FD. Does anybody have any  figures for the weights of the 2 cars.

If I get an FC, I cant decide whether it would be worth the extra outlay to buy a TII or not. I think the reason for this is that I currently have an Integra Type R and Id be disappointed if it wasnt faster in a straight line!

Does anyone know what standard acceleration is from an FC3S in standard trim and also in TII trim.

Final thing, ive heard really bad things about the reliablilty of these rotary engines. My Integra hasnt ever given me any trouble (touch wood!). how often should maintanance be carried out on the rotary to keep it reliable?

Also, are the engines interchangeable between FC and FD models and how interchangeable? Are they a straight swap?

thanks

Bert

weight fc 1250kg
fd 1275 for the lightest one.

yes yes buy the tII

stock t2 0-60 6.5sec

reliable to a degree and should change oil every 3000 and plugs every 6000

engines are only interchangable if you have loads of spare cash.

hope this helps

now go for it:rollin

ok may not help but my rx7 egi that i just got is happy playing with the vw vr6, mr2 n/a, and some other faster but not like mr2 slight tuned turbos boys and beeting them (in the light dark i gain drag coz of the lights till i put non pop ups from america on) (will keep up with a fairly tuned 2.2 vtec prelude though not quite as fast but will keep up) drove a turbo 2 and loved it has 227.6bhp and has intercooler and chip ecu and blitz bov and that was much more fun!

fc v fd comes down to looks in my opinion, fc has the clasic 80\'s straight lines fd has the clasic early 90\'s of every edge has to be a curve type thing! i would go with fc turbo 2 and lower it and a front intercooler and chip or ecu and youll be happy for a fair while but hay still not as quick as the 911 gt3 i raced once!

yeah i tried to race a GT3RS in the TII once - at 125mph he just put his foot down and left me for dead !!

i have both the EGI and TII and they both have their own good qualities

the TII has a turbo which is fun , where as the EGI you can floor it around the corners and dont have to worry about the turbo spooling and putting you sideways

it depends what you want to do with the car - track , drag , street , toy
