Hi all,
Anyone know if an Apex-i AVCR is any good with the FD. Just trying to find out some more as I have been promised a brand spanking new one with a nice discount....:D
Also has anyone heard heard of bridging 2 terminals of the diagnosis port in the engine bay to see if the car has any errors codes stored on it?
Does anyone do/ever done an ECU pull? I was told to do this by just removing a fuse to disconnect power from it for a few mins. It would then reset and take a min or two to learn (fuel type and such)
Thanks, Riccardo.
Search on AVC-R... I\'ve seen about five threads on this recently.
Hard to set up and I personally think they\'re spikey, but opinions vary,
Thanks mate, sounds like one to avoid then - better & more user friendly (I need!!) ones to get.
Cant get one now, more setbacks with car :reallymad loosing faith :( :( :(
Just like to add I personally wouldn\'t add a boost controller until you are SURE everything is running perfectly, and has done for the last 1000 miles or so!
Its very simple to read the error codes off the FD.
What u need is:
1. An LED(exteneded with wires) or LED screwdriver
2. Paper clip or short piece of wire
Under the bonnet on the right of the battery there is a small black box. Flip open the lid and in the cap it will show you what each of the points in the connector are called.
You should reset the error codes first by disconnecting the negitive terminal and puping the brake for 30 secs.
Then drive the car round the block (this will through up any error codes on the car at present).
You need to bridge the TEN and GND terminal with a piece of wire or papper clip.
Then connect one side of the LED or LED screwdriver to the FEN terminal and the other side to the possitive point on the battery.
At this stage the LED should be constantly on.
Turn the Key in the ignition, but do not start.
If there is any errors the LED will start to flash in a morse code fashion.
Long flashes are for 10s and short flashes are for 1s, and there is a kinda longish pause in between the different numbers.
i.e. 2 long flashes followed by 3 short flashes is 23(Fuel thermosensor)
I\'ll post details of all the error codes (if there not already on here!!)
Hope this helps, saves money as well!
Whoa! Thanks for that Channie, hope I havnt got too many!
