Currently running the standard Mazca filters but looking to replace with an after market induction kit.
What type do you guys recommend and rough idea on cost ?
Is there much of a change on induction note over the standard filters ?
BTW I\'ll prob. be fitting an Apexi ECU and controller at the same time.
Cheers,
Rich
not much to choose between induction kits it is a case of how much space and how many pounds u have they do give a nicer induction sound but power gains are negligable due airflow and ducting
If your going for looks in the engine bay then go for a Blitz/HKS/Apexi etc. But ensure it is sheilded from heat and gets a good feed of fresh air.
If you want stock looks but with really good gains then replace the mazda filter with a K&N filter. I have heard many times that this will give excelent results. maybe even better than the other types as useually they are not fed with a good supply of cool fresh air.
Indeed, the stock air box and a K&N is a good bet. If you want an induction kit the best is probably the Apexi Power intake. Blitz SUS look a bit nicer may be. But make up some DIY shielding unless u r otherwise very well cooled...
Cheers guys.
OK so if I put a K&N filter in will I get a better induction note or just better filtration and performance enhancement ?

Minimal noise increase as the air box is a great muffler. Intake kit needed for more roar and BOV whooosh...
Does anyone do a full CAI kit for the FD?
Anyone know a K&N part number for standard FD airbox, or a supplier?
Thanks Bob

P/N is 33-2017
K&N UK is 01925 636950
BTW I presume I\'ll need 2 x panel filters ??
I live near Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, and ordered it through a company called Motech. They also send stuff out, so if you can\'t find anywhere else to order from, give \'em a call.

Quoted me about 54 quid. Expensive, but then the Mazda paper thing is 30ish.
You\'ll only need 1 if you put it in the std airbox.
