Title: Best way to do an ECU reset?...
Post by: M@r]{ on January 10, 2005, 04:59:15 PM
Heard 2 ways of doing this?  Which is the best / correct way?

1)   disconnect negative terminal on battery then hold foot on brake for 10 seconds
2)   disconnect ECU for ½ hour

Only issue I have is I don’t have a standard ECU, it is a Knightsports, does this make a difference?  If not where is the ECU located?

Thanks

I have a standard ECU and used option 1 to reset it. This was advised to me by other RX7 owners.
No idea about the Knightsports ECU but I believe the Apexi holds the settings. I would think all ECU would revert back to the last programmed settings otherwise it would be a right ****er if they reset back to stock settings.
The ECU is at the passanger side footwell.
