if u look in the 3rd pic, cant really c it though, the window ruber iv cut it,its only the 5mm or so that goes on the window side.,
for the back window thay hav this wire lookin thing that goes under the ruber n lifts it of the paint,

scary aint the word 4 it,got 4 boxs of bits n bobs,
didnt mark the boxs jus put all the screws bolts n plastics in the nearest box, rushin c,spent half the day sortin it all out,

I am also planning to have a full respray. What would you say is \'average\' for a price.

So far I have been quoted £900 to £3000. I am sure there would be differences is workmanship between a pro vs a back alley job but I am looking to have it done properly within a reasonable budget. £3g seems a bit steep!

What colour was your car to start?

£600 is very reasonable IMO, I\'ll be respraying my rex myself prob around march when it gets warmer :)

colour was montego blue, where u goin 2 spray it 2,,
i cant coment on whats a good price really cos prices of stuff change dependin on where u live, where i live there r a LOT of spray shops,it dont really matter how much u pay, what matters is how good r thay at sprayin, allways have a look at some of there work, good thing to look out 4 is yung lads who work there.look at there rides, thay hav most likely been sprayed

I\'ll be doing the work in my garage, its pretty huge and I can cover everything in there without too much difficulty.  Also a good excuse to get a compressor, that said for £600 I\'d be tempted to send my car down to where yours is, it\'d be easier for them too as the colour would be staying the same :)

I had my previous car resprayed and like you I did the stripping myself, tis a bastard job, very rewarding putting it back together though it has to be said!

Wow!

Want to get mine sprayed in a few months but that looks a hell of a job stripping it down. Is it as hard as it looks or is it not too bad if you take your time and do it right?

£600 sounds a deal.

Gareth

When I did my Prelude it was worse than the RX-7 looks.

THe rules are, get lots of money bags - and label the bag, put the screws, bolts, nuts etc from the wing, bumpers, mirrors, door handles, seals, lights etc into the said bags, the more you can split them up and keep them safe the better, its a pain of a job but it makes putting the car back together very easy and reasonably quick!

It will take a bit of time though, it took me two days to strip the prelude, but think of the cash you save!

puttin it back 2gether is the good part,
doors boot n most of the rear end is on now,

the only part i didnt like was, findin places to put the panels when thay hav been painted,i got a bigish unit but the only place i could put the panel was on my trany tipper n the ford cargo bed,
i got my 4 poster up in the air with sheets over it 2 keep dust of the car,(car is under the ramp)on top of the ramp i got the old bonet bumper n spoiler, gf s new front bumper 4 the del sol,

itl be nice to get my ramp back so i can do some fidles,:D
