What\'s the easiest way of removing the ABS bulb from the dash?

Cheers,

Rob.

Hammer and a centre punch? :D

I think most people remove the fuse if its playing up?

I think removing the fuse will stop the ABS working, but will it make the dash light go out?

It doesn\'t no, I tested it when I bought the car and all four wheels locked up.  I don\'t really want the ABS to work but I don\'t want it to fail the MOT either (due in 2 weeks!!)

Also with the headlights, when I have just the small side lights on the flash works (it flashes the 2 small lights under the headlights but above the side lights), but when I have the main headlights on I don\'t have any flash/highbeam!  any ideas, could it be just a fuse?

The head lamp issue sounds like it could either a fuse or a relay.  Try raising the lights on the middle switch and then activating the flash function, if it doesnt work then you are looking at some sort of fault caused by the motor relay switching.

If you remove the fuse, the light wont show up and the MOT station will never know the car has ABS....

Great I\'ll try that, are the fuses under the bonnet on in the footwell on these cars?

Also what do you mean by the \'middle switch\'? The only way my headlight pop up (as far as I know) is by putting my main beam on.

Fuses you are looking for should located in one of two places (Mine is pre ABS days so I cant be 100% sure) 1) side of drivers footwell, or 2) Under the bonnet in one of the other fuse banks.

 As for the switches:-

     -----------------
<|  dash         |>   Rear screen demist
<|                   |>  Lamp unit raise, push in for head lamp wash
<|                   |>  Main light controll, (lamps up/down etc)
     -----------------

 Does that make any sense?

My FD failed its MOT for the ABS light being on so i wired it to the seatbelt light and hey presto it comes on for a couple of seconds at start up and than goes out, MOT passed...

ABS fuse lives in the fusebox under the bonnet (passenger side towards the front of the car)

Can you believe it, just checked under my bonnet and theres no abs fuse in there! put one in and the light went out  :-)  haven\'t checked the ABS yet though.

Regarding the headlights, very strange if I use the cleaner switch to pop the headlights up they flash but only if I have the side light on, when I put the headlights on they don\'t flash, any ideas?

If the fuse wasn\'t there it probably means the ABS is faulty, mine used to engage randomly under braking, then the light would come on and it would stop. I decided I\'d rather have the ABS light on than brakes which worked intermittently!
