Title: Warning poor quality replica kits
Post by: DRAGON on January 06, 2005, 02:35:39 PM
I have just received a replica Feed Type II nose. The quality of the fibreglass and the fit is absolutely hoorrendous.
We have had awful problems with poor quality kits that I cannot sell and are pretty much useless.
We now only use top quality products because it will actually cost less in the long run.
Anyway to cut a long story short, you get what you pay for. The nose pictured here was bought on ebay for £300  , was 8 weeks late and will cost an extra £260+Vat trade to put right and will be full of filler.

:D Glad they\'re spending my money well then! - Law suits all over the shop!

If I put a lot of hard work into something I wouldn\'t want someone ripping it off AND doing a rubbish job of it too!  There is the possibility of the shoddy replica being mistaken for an original and giving FEED a bad name.

Indeed. Their stuff is nice - and expensive. If people buy fake stuff and it looks ****e it doesnt really reflect well on them and they know that. Hence they dont sit down and take it. They\'ve asked us about copies being made in the UK - but we\'ve not gone there as yet.

They have some **** in Australia too,

My cwest front is a copy. the lights wont go up and down with the plastic surrounds on and nothing really lines up.

was only $400AUD.

But I am wishing I got a Jap RE-Amemiya one now. The skirts and fenders were exact.

I HAVE a FEED T-Shirt. It is Great quality. :D hehehehe

I\'m interested to know who it came from on E-Bay - name & shame - plus: then anyone else can avoid the same mis-fortune!

Mine was from Hyperperformance and looked pretty much like that.  Even arrived with a crack in it and they wouldn\'t replace the bumper.

Also spent a fortune at the body shop to put it right.  Looks lovely now though since its been sorted.

Mine came from Hyperformance too and whilst it didn\'t look anywhere near as bad as the one pictured, it was far from perfect. It did fit quite well tho which is half the battle!
