Title: What battery to use?
Post by: hot RX on December 27, 2004, 03:16:04 PM
Anyone know if a stronger than standard battery is required to start an FD3?

My battery is fully charged and I am trying to see (after the xmas break) whether my starter motor, earthing, battery or alternator may the the cause of my having to jump start my car on 3 occasions now.

If a jump start works it can\'t be flooding or the alternator right?

The battery is NOT draining either.

I always have cables in the back just in case!

What battery do others on the forum use?

Anyone changed the starter motor or fixed an earthing problem, where their car starts well now?

yep it was a bad battery that never fully charges up as 30 percent of the cells were effectively dead. I had a full electrical diagnosis and nothing else was wrong! so...I have peace of mind, a new battery and now the car starts 100% of the time, no problems. Thanks for everyone;\'s advice.
