I think I have a developing fault, clutch related.
When the car is cold I have no problem with gear selection or the \'bite\' point of the clutch.
However as it gets warm the gear selection becomes knotchy and it also starts to creep forward when stationary even with the pedal fully depressed. not an even edge forward but in pulses.
My main concern is that something may be coming loose and may cause a major problem if I don\'t sort it out soon rather than waiting for a bigger problem later on.
A new cluch was fitted about six months [5k] ago so that should be OK.
So what can change as it gets warm?
John
the clutch fluid flexy hose could be expanding and therefor takeing away the pressure needed to move the clutch. or it could and more than likely is the clutch master or slave cylinder. look for wet patches around both of these. the wet one is the leeky one.
Holy thread reassurection !!
I have exactly this problem, the bite point starts off at midpedal where I set it, but it gradually moves closer to the floor as the car warms up.
Neither cylinders have any leaks that I can see (I\'ve had a good look)
Can it be air in the system ??
Any other ideas ??
I\'m running OS Giken Twin Plate with push - pull conversion.
Hi Dave,
If you have no leaks and the car is "walking off" then it\'s yer master cylinder sir.
Oh, dont say that !!
I imagine thats a bloody pig to change :(
