New lump went in today I\'m told. All painted up.
Just waiting for the exhaust bits & microtech jiggerypokery.
Lets play guess the BHP: (& how long the gearbox will last!)
I reckon over 200 at wheels.
blimey - thats a good figure out of an FB
what lump you put in it ???
I wouldn\'t like to guess, Elford rated (overly ?) the elford turbo\'s at 160hp as did Mazda with the 12at. I wouldn\'t have though 200 at the wheels would be that hard with an intercooler and proper fueling
seen one recently in the aus rotary forum claiming nearly 250 at the rear wheels on a 12at
I\'ll go for 201hp :D
What does Tim\'s make at the wheels I wonder?
Tim at RXmotors is the leading 12at builder in the uk (or anywhere?). I beleive he\'s squeezed an excessive amount of BHP
from his own 12at - I have heard rumours (not from Tim, he refuses to discuss power figures....) of around 400BHP!
So, being as how mines a scaled down version of that (MUCH smaller turbo, but similar in most other ways: agressive porting, microtech, FD pump, WInj), depending on boost I\'m hoping that apart from Tim\'s FB mines gonna be the fastest FB in the WHOLE UNIVERSE HA HA HAAAAA HAAAARRRGGHHH!!!:evillaugh
Hate to burst the bubble, but there are 12As in the states putting out over 700HP...On Carbs.
I seem to recall that cars used on the road too but I wouldn\'t think it\'d be very freindly to drive and probably not legal even in the slackest of US states.
Can\'t hear you LA LA LAA LAA LA
All joking aside, building an out & out 1/4 miler is not what I\'m trying to do. (i just like winding people up:D )
The Idea is to make what is a really nice clean example into a fairly rapid, yet civilised road car. Dunno if it\'ll ever see the pod. but if it did - id hope for high 13\'s.
Probably just cruise it round for folk to admire;)
