Title: My New RX
Post by: Icesurf3r on December 22, 2004, 01:15:18 PM
Saw the car in the vendors section and now i am ecstatic to announce that......

She\'s mine..... .....mine i tell you..... ......all mine........ :D :D :D

she\'sss my precioussssssssss .... After all how could anyone resist those sleek sexy lines..... After seeing this car i JUST COULD NOT HELP MYSELF...... I had to have her, my will crumbled and all thoughts of remaining truly faithful to my girlfriend just vanished (not good seeing as though i only got engaged a few weeks ago) afraid she now has some serious competition!

Hope to see some of you guys at meets etc, will def be attending RS \'05 but wether i\'ll be taking it up the strip is another matter!!

On the meet side of things are they any that take place within the York, Hull, Scarborough triangle? As all others just seem to be miles from me as i\'m, right over on the east coast. On a plus note she\'ll be the only RX in my town :D

Very Nice. Congrats.

Not sure on the meet that would be closest to you. Been on about organising something in lincs but that hasn\'t really materialised as yet.

Looks fab matey, is there really no mesh in the nose cone though, or is it just the pics making it look like there isnt? Might be worth getting that sorted if not.

Yeah, i understand where your coming from with the mesh, guess it protect the fmic and other internals from small stones and such like.  Just didn\'t want to restrict the air flow too much, so if any of you guys have any recommendations as to the make and type of mesh i should be using it would be appreciated.....

Cheers

Title: 7 Days and Counting.....
Post by: Icesurf3r on December 29, 2004, 10:20:16 AM
Well guys, only seven days or 168 hours or 10080 minutes or 604800 seconds, till i pick my Rex up (But who\'s counting) :) lol!

Can\'t wait, going to be like christmas all over again! Of course i intend to be taking the drive at home extremely carefully, so if one of you guys overtakes me on the M62 east, when i\'m doing 20mph, just be patient (only kidding, but will not be doing over 70mph, thats a def) At least till i get used to the handling etc of the RX anyway.

On a side note, was just wondering how easy it is to change the side repeaters? Is it just a case of popping them off, removing the bulb, fitting the bulb into the clear repeaters then popping the clear repeaters back on??

Hopefully see some of you guys in the New Year!! :wave

Stunning car - a work of art, congratulations!

It\'d be very wrong for this beauty to miss it\'s destiny by being used for the shopping run and brief traffic light drags.  It needs proper use :)  Plus venting your need for speed on tracks/strips helps keep you license intact...

Lucky bugger :D

no worries there iain!!!

No shopping runs for this car, maybe the odd drag off the lights, just to upset the local boy/girl racers, chavs and chavesses!!

I will be attending RS \'05!! Though not sure i\'ll be brave enough to take the car up the strip (been a complete novice that is). Though future drag runs will be on the cards (once i\'m feeling alot braver and not so worried about something on the car going BOOOOOOOOM, as i tear up the strip).

Maybe some of the more proffessional drag strip junkies on the forum could help us rookies out by posting a thread on launch techniques and when best to change gears?? I\'m sure this would help alot of people. including me out!

Cheers for now
