Hi everyone,
I\'m new to the forum. Just wanted to know what sort of cars people have beaten or attempted to beat in their RX\'s. I have a 93 stock FD, I\'ve had it for about 6months and only just got a Blitz Nur spec R exhaust fitted. So far I\'ve beaten a Porsche 911 (993), volkswagen Corrado V6 version, Merc SLK and a 93 Subaru Impreza. So what kind of cars have people killed with their RX7\'s?
Ive beaten (on a track officer of course)
Boxster S.
Numerious Scoobies and EVOs.
Kept up with a Ferrari 360.
A couple of Skylines.
An of course all that hot hatch rubbish.
your RX must be pretty dam fast blitzboy!

my most elaborate was a brand new Maserati... I kept side by side with it when he pulled over to let me past and I had air and boost leak at that point.. I\'m 100% I will take it next time :D
(and yes he was trying.. either that or he didn\'t know how to change gear)
I\'ve nudged a few Ferraris out the way too.. but thats no race as they are mostly old beans :)
My greatest achievement was beating a TVR Cerbera who bottled it in quite high double figures. Then 5 mins later he spanked me on a set of lights!
But to be honest of all the people who look to have races with me it tends to be chavs in 205\'s, Renault 5\'s and nova\'s!:rollin
yeah but his themostat probbably blew 5 metres down the road hehe..
I remember looking at that Tuscan at woodbridge that time, back of the seat was falling off, dash was coming away... no wonder it beat you mate, probably lost half the car while doing so hehe..;)
I must admit i went stupidly sideways and then catapulted off, he only just beat me anyway....
He probably thought i was a rich chav too!;)
hehe you can pick up a cebra for the price of a 7 now on autotrader.. hes probably a rich chav ;)

Fun with a Spd 6 Cerbera on the way to Pod recently-ish. Running less than a bar in the red car and just left him for dead. Had a good chat with him and his son once he\'d given up trying after a few goes - whilst cruising up the A43 at about 40mph!
Not so much the result (no surpirse) but the banter afterward was real good value "f#ck - whats that got under the bonnet!??" etc etc. He was off to Silverstone and offered to get me in with him which was nice. Tempted, but as it happens it was the day the red thing ran 10.61 at Pod so was worth missing out :D

Kept up with a stunning Tuscan S on the way back from le mans this year. Not a kill but I wasn\'t killed. Both cars 2 up with full camping gear on board.
The Tusc sounded sweet though.

I passed my bike test before i did my car test (7 years ago now), and i was all bike bike bike until i got my first car when i was 20.
When i first got my rx7, i couldnt believe how fast it, raced scoobies and beat (4 of them now), all the usual hatchbacks etc, and i just love pushing audi tt\'s to one side :D :cool .........but what shocked me the most one day was when me and the girlfriend were on the way to look for an mr2 for her........
on the a** test track cruising nicely along at around 85mph in the fast lane, as i had moved over for the oncoming slip road coming onto the a** test track, and this 04 R6 comes flying out the slip road and undertakes me.......i thought right, lets give it some.....
and i just could not believe it ....we were gaining on him :eek: ...caught up with him (he was flat on his tank, flat chat), and then we moved to the inner lane and pulled up next to him ...he jus looked over at me in disbelief....and iwas in shock......being a biker and knowing just how fast r6\'s are.....that is what has shocked me the most.

Dan that is s*** hot man. cant wait until summer when all the bikers are out so I can have a go. Will have to spec my car up a bit for that though.

Me too, when my car goes for its single turbo and rebuild.....cant wait for next summer :)
Certainly from a standing start the bikes would have it....but roll on from like 70/80 mph, then you have a great chance.

Had I go with a Ducatti a few weeks back coming off a roundabout, neck and neck to 80mph, then he pulled ahead. no contest on the corners though, he was dust.
Anyone know where I can get some faster headlights? I\'m fed up with the headlight beam dissapearing over my shoulder.

Thats what i love abouts the FC, everyone thinks \'i can beat that easy\' until they are watching me disapear ahead of them.

Know what you Iain:D dont know if it was the same gaggle that we played with on the way back I played with a blue Tuscan S out of the packand killed it:D I think the best was the 911 rsr fully stripped, full roll cage, the look on his face when we were side by side pulling 7.5k+ and he could not get away from me, if I had been 1 up and without the full load I recon I would have had him:cool

Class! Not sure if it\'d have been the same Tiv though - you and Gary were quite away ahead of me after my passenger sabotaged the navigation!
Are you planning on another trip this year? It\'d be good if we can get a few more along this time...

We came across about 12 \'trevors\' ala convoy stylee - bounced in between them till one bit, luck would have it the Tuscan S he must have thought twas time to to show the way of the trevvoorrr - sent him away with his tails between his legs:wave don\'t mess with de REX:D
Don\'t know about this comming year - spent loads of time sorting it without to much response - maybe someone else should try organising it..........................will be hopefully going anyway.
I have just bought the white single turbo form brian ellis. 517bhp at the fly.

When im home i always frequent the wangan for the big monthly meet we have here. You get all sorts from the ultra rare ford RS 2000 and ferrari F40\'s to he usuall skylines and supras. My car is amount a handful of RX7\'s that will keep up with 90% of what runs against me. The main things like the ultra GTR\'s, supras and super cars (ferrari, lambo\'s and the likes) i tend to just not bother. Last time i was out i run and beat a porsche 911 gt3, the owner seemed suprised until i gave him a passenger ride, then he understood why he fell behind :D

on my bike i\'ve been surprized by a few cars on the road but never beeten. the nurburgring is another story. hope to go this year in the car. expecting a nice list of kills in that. :rollin

I beat a BOXTER S\' the day i bought the car plus an SL500.
Messed about with a JAGUAR XJR then left him for dead when i got bored.
Lots of BMW\'s (all sorts), a couple of SLK\'s, a SAAB Turbo or 2, some prat in a 600 ROVER that he had Turbo\'d :D .
Loads of BOY RACER\'S an RX8, XKR, 911 TURBO and an F355 SPIDER...
Oh yeah and i really pissed off a guy in a FORD PUMA :rollin .

Hi all,
No real kills, but we clocked 40km/h-225km/h in 7.8 secs. (30mph-140mph), whilst finalising a map. But we were killed by an Audi S2 estate, who were 4 up from about 50kph, about two weeks previously. It belongs to a friend, making over 560 horses from the 5 cylinder lump... Naughty.

ive beaten a few things, was really surprised by how fast the rx7 was when i bought. ive destroyed a few evo\'7,8\'s and scoobies, 300zx. only trouble i had was with my mates highly modded supra. worst race i ever got into was when i destroyed an undercover civic type S police car. he turned on the lights after i tore past going about 155 :eek:

he let us go scott free after toying with me, with comments like \'how much i would sell the car for now i was banned\' and \' would i do him a deal\' :eek: my girlfriend and i were stunned.

11PSI, stock sequential twins, Apexi intake, downpipe, hollowed out cat, and Apexi N1 dual exhaust. Its a freak... It has cut 1.9 60fts with no burnout and 8.2s @ 92 in the 1/8th and 109s in the 1/4. Theres something done to it that I dont know about and none of my FD friends could figure it out either.
Fastest its been 168mph at ~7200rpm

Only thing ive killed was a new maserati coupe just before my clutch bit the dust, was about 4am on sunday on the A4 into london, he was highly embarassed as he was clearly showing off to his women in the front seat.
I was 2 up as well.

Had a genuine 140 out of mine, (GPS speed reading), and it was still pulling. Was chasing Max who in turn was chasing a Noble. Noble was passed at 170+ by Max who had a passenger as well!
talking of top speed ive had on 2 occasions now (one on video) 165mph out of mine and it was still pulling, not quite finished with the mapping yet.
.........Not very at the moment (is that a citroen 2cv passing me by??), till it\'s all tuned mapped and upgraded properly..... Then watch out!! My T88 will be coming to a town near you lol....:rollin :rollin :rollin :
I beat a C reg Ford Orion. The old girl driving it didn\'t realise she was in a race as we were both just leaving the local Church car park. I have a feeling she might be ready for me next time. I\'ll keep you posted about our next encounter. :bandit
to be honest - i dont think i have beaten anything in mine - no one wants to race :(
although i did get beaten to a plup by a 911 GT3 , everything was OK to about 125 - then i think he change to third and left me for dead - i had no chance
after reading up about them - only then i realised he had a 190MPH car running over 300 BHP as stock - no wonder he beat me :(
and he had a shopping list of stickers down the side - so it could have been tweaked
Last night I went for a cruise in to Central London with a family member from overseas to show them the city sites. Whilst driving through I encountered a Bentley of sorts (54 plate) sitting on my tail whilst I was driving through some narrow back streets. God knows why but he was so close that I all could see was this huge grill in my rear view mirror. I was fairly gentle on the throttle as I don\'t speed through built up areas. I signalled off to join the main road and he followed again 2 inches from my rear (what\'s up with this guy). Enter the main road and I am first at the lights and the Bentley tries to follow but is blocked as another car gets behind me first. I pull off the Bentley overtakes but by then I\'m gone, and soon after I see the Bentley turn off. Not sure why he sat on my backside through 2 back streets!
Main highlight of the evening took place on the way home. I was waiting at a set of lights leading to a crossroads and then on to a carriage way. I pull off and get to the other side to see a red Ferrari 355 in the left lane and a black M3 (E46) in the right. I pull level with the M3 who then see\'s me and floors it after the Ferrari. I am blocked by a slower car so I hang back, the slower car exits and I then follow the Ferrari in the left lane and the M3 is in the right. The Ferrari and M3 are now moving quickly, I gain on the Ferrari and the M3 is left lagging behind by about 2 cars lengths.
We take a long sweeping bend and the Ferrari is flying round it, I follow and realise just how low and wide Ferrari\'s are to the ground! The M3 is still trailing behind in the outside right hand lane. We exit the bend and continue straight on, I\'m still on the heels of the 355 he then begins to slow down and take the upcoming exit ahead (still at some speed mind you). This just leaves me and the M3 now, who has now caught up. I pull behind him as we are about to approach the motorway as the dual carriageway expands. The M3 is poised ahead ready to enter the overtaking lane at speed, with me behind. I\'m in 3rd the M3 guns it, I change to 4th, I see 1 bar on the boost gauge, there is no traffic ahead. I pull from behind him in to the middle lane, I\'m parallel now, pulling away, 5th gear change and he\'s is left behind. I slow down, let him catch up, drop to 4th and again we go for it, I pull away (I\'m 2 up and he is alone). Once again I slow down and M3 is next to me but this time gives in and admits defeat. My turning is coming up so I pull in to the inside lane, upon seeing this the M3 decides to put on a show and then peels away at high speeds.
I cruise home letting the car cool down, feeling quite exhilarated.
