Title: Double Throttled Removed???
Post by: Big Stu on December 12, 2004, 08:37:59 PM
I have just found out that the solenoid that controls my double throttle is not working and the pipe that goes from the plenum has been blocked off.

So i figure that at some point in time the double throttle has been bolted open, as per some threads i found on here.

But my question is WHY?? What does this do to the engine that is better than having the 2nd throttle?

Any idea\'s from technical types?

Hi Stu

read the link below and all shall be revealed, i have it done on mine, the only down side to this mod is you have to excercise self control, as it allows you to boot it when then engine isnt warmed up, so you need to allow the engine to warm up before doing so, which is common sense already..

Cheers

Cheers for the info Donato.

So this really wont affect my engine, just make it more reponsive but i need to keep the boost low until she is warmed up properly.

Just dont give it too much throttle until its fully warmed up and it will be fine mate.

Thats it exactly.  Disabled mine a year ago (broken solenoid) and had no trouble since...
