Chnaged the colour on the hard pipes to match the alloys, i think it looks ok but what do you guys think???
Also painted the casing around the air filter gold too with the new filter insert in green, look ok????
Gurj:wave
new:
filter:
alloys and hard pipes:
Paint the inlet manifold to match and it would complete the bay. IMHO.
Fish
Yea i can see what you\'re thinking but its hard not to get paint everywhere as the only brush i have is quite wide!!!! which is why i took all the hard pipes off to paint.
Will get a smaller paint brush tomorrow and finish that bit off:)
You would also need to really rub down the manifold before painting, as they are normally covered in crap. ;)
Come on finish it off properly. :p
Fish
Looks great gurj...love it!!
That was the only thing i thought let your engine bay down was the manky colour those pipes were before......but now....looks wicked:)
Dan!!
Thanks Dan :)
Yeh, looks better:) as you have the same problem as me, s/turbo filter right by the top hose......and gets fffffk..g hot  any idea\'s on inlet trunking??or you happy as is.
J.
ok as it is at the mo. next year a few more additions will be coming but can\'t elaborate too much just yet;)
Why not??....go on....tell us:D
Dan!!
looks good, but as mr fish says the plenum needs to go the same colour mate.
a nice liverpool red might have looked better, but hey, each to there own... ;)
Donato dont start again buddy, you canna talk while you are below us baby:p
Dan - can\'t say until i got a budget sorted, wont be until April time and then possibly lots of work;)
The inlet will be done tomorrow work yee not people, tell you what the air filter looks so so dirty in the first pic no??? got the new one ordered from Pip at wgt btw.:)
If you use gold caliper laquer on the inlet manifold, it\'ll be heat proof and you can put it straight on without rubbing it smooth.
Loads of work saved there then:D
cool u jus gave me an idea, fillter looks proper.wasnt gona use mine, green n blue looks crap,so il paint my fillter mesh blue,
boost pipes look proper 2,
asp
Looks spot on buddy, looked at the first pic and was wondering why you bought dirty-blue coloured wheels...then realised the \'new\' pic was below!! Doh! :rollin
Agree the plenum needs a lick paint too, and possibly have the alternator polished?? Amazing how much roomier the engine bay looks in a single FD!! Guess it\'s all the rat\'s nest out the way that does it...
Car looks great as always mate. Surely you\'re not thinking more power though?
I don\'t really think i need more power at the mo it\'s ok on the road bearing in mind its a T78, and isn\'t too twitchy so why change it??
If i were gonna make it a drag car then yes there would be more mods, but really just looking at exterior mods really. Different rear wing maybe a new bonnet and so forth. Might get a few chrome bits for the engine??
We\'ll see nx year???
looks good matey
for some new mods ... thats simple
1 - respray
2 - new head lights
/ grabs his coat on the way out /
Stu, theres a great pic of you in the Northern meet thread:yes :yes :yes
Phew. Saw the additions bit and forsome reason assumed it more under-bonnet parts!!
C-West headlights are great, keep\'em!! Or maybe the RE-A HID jobbies? C-West front and Veilside skirts are cool, maybe somekind of new rear bumper/diffuser? Would finish the back off nicely!
Do think the Veilside wing is slightly OTT (not keen on the double spoiler effect), but then your car can pull it off. The mazdaspeed type-II one is best imho, or perhaps a CF GT wing??
LOADS of cool bonnets to pick from...RE-Amemiya AD9 anyone? :D
You got a pic of the GT wing geezer???
I have but i\'m at work now matey. I believe Si has the mazdaspeed one i\'m on about (similar to the \'99 spec one but slightly bigger, more angled uprights and a lower lip which traces the lines of the bootlid). I\'ll find a link.
As far as the GT ones go, didn\'t have anyone in particular in mind. But i\'ll see if i can find a nice example. Ben has a great one, not sure if a GT wing would look as good sprayed to match tho???
Hmmm couldn\'t find much dude, but have a look at the mazdaspeed GT-C wing, maybe something like that? Probably looks better with the uprights slightly closer together. Think Taka Kaira sell it. Oh, Panspeed make some mad ones too, a GT one that curves forwards at the ends (like the JGTC cars!) and one similar to the \'99 spec wing.
Anyways, off home at last!
Heres the Mazdaspeed one, Auto-Exe one I have to follow... Actually quite similar really!
AUTO-EXE
Nah dont like them two, i wanted a GT wing style which just over hangs the car??? Do you which one i mean???
Have seen it somewhere but canna remember???
Wanna buy buy c-west ally wing gurj??? :D
I\'m getting a new one in the new year.
Dan!!
You mean a proper Carbon jobbie like this beastie...
Sard in Japan make some nice ones like that one and you\'d be looking at £600 minimum for a real CF one.
Heres a RE Amemiya or FEED Afflux one (Both very similar).
Now we\'re getting somewhere, its very much like the one you have just posted, except the sides dont hang down, but just level off over-hanging the car ...... just;)
Will have to have a real good look tomorrow to see where i saw the one i\'m after:)
Thanks for the images guys appreciated
Gurj
Isnt the Re-amemiya the same as top secrets wing?
Both the same but with the different company logo\'s on:confused:
Dan!!
I have a feeling the\'re all made by the same company with different stickers stuck on them aswell! Just find the cheapest company to buy from lol!
Cool I\'m on 777 posts!!! :D :cool
I\'ll be watching this thread, I think Gurj is describing the wing I want, but in carbon. I found on e in Halfrauds, but I didn\'t like it.:(
I think RX7ABERDEEN has a similar rear wing but has bits that hang down the side, where as i want one without bits at the side???
Make any sense yet:(
sorry guys i mightof missed it but what sort of paint was used on the hard pipes and was it laquered after painting?

Hi geezer,
I actually used the paint that normally is used for painting the brake calipers, you can buy this from "Halfords" the paint has laquer in it and i put 2 coats on and so far there is no melting or peeling:)
Hope that helps, quite funny as i bought the paint some time ago and thought i had bought PURPLE paint !!! when i opened the tin up and mixed the paint i thought "hmmm funny shade of purple" then put the brush in and realised it were bloody gold paint !!!! Looks ok though so nevermind;) :rollin :rollin :rollin
