Title: Retractctable headlight unit, or not??
Post by: rmagictastic on December 06, 2004, 09:48:05 AM
My bloomin headlights still wont retract, i can wind then down manually, turn the lights on, up they pop, turn the lights off, they stay there, the \'headlight up\' button on the dash isnt pushed, ive checked that. can anyone shed any light on this??  anyone got a wiring diag for a \'94, or know where i can get one? i got one for a \'93 but it appears to be different to my car.
I am wondering if the retractable healight unit relay has stuffed is as the car came with a Pivot thingbob on it, which someone can have with all the wire bits if they can solve my problem, tempting eh???

Please help, it is christmas!!

Regards

Nick

I had a similar problem on an \'86 celica.  Was caused by the fittings and joints around the lamp unit being un-aligned.  If you have an aftermarket front bumber etc then theres a strong smell of someone screwing up your lights when the kit was fitted.  Can you actually hear the motor relay engage when you switch the lights off? (get someone else to turn them off and get down and listen whilst they are doing it)
