I had my car out for a spin tonight and although I was not pushing it all the car went to about 1bar boost and just over. Obviously this aint good but what sort of damage may have been done?
It did it the once and I did not try again. I think I also had fuel cut on a recent long journey home.
Any help, thanks
Steve
generally not good without suitable fueliing mods do you have a power FC or such like?
Shouldn\'t worry too much yet but if it runs lean & dets then you may have issues but mine did it when i first got it so went power FC (which solved my [roblem in the main but there are so many reasons for boost issues so not saying this is wots causing overboost best bet is get it to Expert to check over) gota look at getting a boost controller for mine also as it still likes to go marginally over 1 bar in 5th gear WOT but while it\'s best avoided no dead engine as yet........

No APEXI on it yet. I wanted to avoid fitting one as im not very close to any specialists if anything goes wrong with the car but it looks like I will have to get one. Thing is I don\'t want to fit one if its just going to cover the problem up and not actually sort it.

What mods do you have.....to make sute you cover your back...get yourself a EBC Electronic Boost controller....this will automatcally reduce the boost in the event of a spike....plus its invaluable for future mods!!:D
I\'ve only got a Blitz back box and M2 direct feed induction kit.
I think I might try and get my hands on a Knightsports EBC.
Any ideas on the damage this might have caused?
If you regularly keep your eye on your boost gauge and it has only just happened I wouldn\'t worry too much. If its been doingg it constatntly and your not sure for how long then..It could do some damage...but you probably wont see the effects for a while yet.
Either way you must get it sorted as you have inadequate feulling on a standard ecu for that kind of boost.
i always understood the risk with overboosting is primarily underfueling which = running lean = det = by by tips so as long as yer engine is OK at the minute then i wouldn\'t threat too much if anything is mullered nowt you can do bout it now & if it aint no point worrying too much (as long as you can remove any future risk where possible) i\'d seen mine goto well over 1.1 when i first got it on the dodgy ECU & was a bit worried but nowt bad has reared it\'s head 10 months & bout 4k miles on so keep them fingers crossed fella
