Title: Has anyone got a leak free Convertable?
Post by: Grizzly on November 24, 2004, 10:27:48 PM
Is there such a thing as a leak free Convertable T2?

After the bad rain we\'ve been having round here i have a small swimming pool in mine (i know now why they have Leather seats).

I am going to get my car in work and spend a week fixing water leaks.

Hi Chris,

Check your water drain system, the cab we had allways had bone dry carpets whatever the weather, and it stood out side.

Can you be more specific about the seals, there doesnt seem to be a kit in the parts list?

I can see 2 seals where the roof joins the body, about 25 each, and a "Weather Strip" on the sides of the roof panel, about 45 each.

Martin, thats cool! i\'ve not seen that brake down before.

I know i will defo need the too top ones and the four side ones. I may also need the Ft door seal (the one with the scoop shape collector on the end)

Are these from Mazda or can you supply them? I ask as i rang my local mazda main dealer over these seals and they said "OOOOO we may have trouble getting hold of them! we\'ll ring you back!" and thats the last i heard (as i\'ve been a tad bussy myself)

I would entertain buying a full set of seals (doors, hood and boot) at least when the new hood is fitted they look nice and new and not ripped and flat. I supose it depends on Cost?

mine leaked even when it was a brand new hood.
I coundlt stop it leaking from where the top bit joined the windscreen pillars.

I read several articles that have said that they are not usually very waterproof. Clive must have been lucky.

Grizzly.

I dont have Convertible (see my sig) so I dont know the parts. Can you have a look at the numbers on the diagram, I know they are small, and tell me which numbers they are.

You will have to get them from Mazda, though, I just have a parts list, it saves me from describing over the phone what I want, and I can get a rough idea on prices, too.

BTW, I have said it before, but I also have an RX-2 parts list(US unfortunately), if anyone wants part No.s

If you really cant see the numbers, I can email you a much bigger, and clearer diagram maybe.

Ok, That would be good if you could mail me a bigger pic of it at least i can give Mazda a list of part numbers.

Do you have the diagram for the door seals as well (if its not being cheeky)

Thanks

Chris
