Title: bov whistle?
Post by: toon19974 on November 21, 2004, 09:02:49 PM
took the rex for a run tonight down the a38 to derby. after i got off the a38 i noticed a high pitched hiss/whistle noise when i get into upto boost. also i had a blitz bov fitted about a week ago and this is the 1st got good run at speed its done, could it be a loose pipe, split pipe or something similiar. it sounds like some airs escaping from somewhere when i go into boost. any ideas guys.

I think that the Blitz BOV has a little screw on the top to adjust the pressure that the valve wll hold before it bleeds the boost off, could be that!!!

I once fitted a BOV that done this, and it was basically knackered (leaking air from somewhere) and I found a new one ASAP and it was fine.

I actually chekced it was a BOV problem first by trying out someone elses.  It might of been fixable, but I just sent it back.

no it\'s going in friday, the mechanic seems to think it\'s a pipe or one of the bov gaskets as it\'s not losing boost just leaking it. and not much at all as it just gives out a high pitched squeal as it goes into boost, so it\'s got to be a tiny gap that its escaping from
