Title: Brake Service Kit
Post by: jetpilot on November 20, 2004, 03:24:15 PM
Is there any such thing as a FD Front Brake service kit, new seals etc. I am installing some FD calipers on my FC and just want to overhaul them before they go on.

bit off topic jet, but do the brake discs and pads from an FD fit on the FC?? my friend has sold his FD and has a full set of discs and pads sitting around for too long now, just wondering if they would fit? if so i would take them,

cheers,

Patrick

I know the calipers will bolt straight up so long as you have 17" alloys, maybe some slight altering of brake lines etc, as for the discs, i cannot say but i would have thought so, check with RX motors or similar.

Hiya,

Pads are the same on FD & FC, I would have to check part numbers to find out about the disc\'s.

Hope this helps

Hi Jetpilot,

You can get a service kit for the calipers, I just did mine.  The fronts are quite easy but I still haven\'t figured out the backs!  I got my kit from mazdatrix in the US as I was buying a load of stuff from them.  They came in Mazda bags so I assume you should be able to get them from Mazda over here.
It\'s fun trying to pop out all 4 pistons together!
Here is the URL:  http://www.mazdatrix.com/j-1brake.htm

$33 for the fronts and I can\'t see the rears listed but I got some from them.

Hope this helps,

Mark.

if FD calipers bolt straight on, then does this mean an aftermarket big brake kit for a FD will fit a FC???
