Title: Purchasing Dilemma
Post by: Rich Cheung on November 18, 2004, 02:26:40 PM
If potentially been offered some very nice FD3\'s.
The main one thats taken my eye is a black one with a mixture of C-west & Re-Amemiya body styling. Single HKS turbo conversion and relevant engine upgrades to support that.
The car has had an engine transplant and the current engine has about 18,000 on it. The downside is the overall mileage put on the car is 70,000.

The car would stand me at about £9k. Does this sound like a good buy ?

As I\'d be looking to keep it for several years what would you expect a car of this sort of spec to go for if it had 90-100,000 miles on it ?

Thanks for any advice.

Rich

I think £9k is probably a good price dependant on the engine really only doing 18k???

If there are receipts to support this then sounds ok, you got any pics matey???

Come down on Sunday for a chat if you wish, bubble meet i should be there around 2pm.

Nice silver motor!
Best advise I could give you is get as much information on the car. If you are going to buy it only once you have seen it then I would suggest you take a rotary person with you, either see if you can get an engine builder from the site(would probably cost you money) or very kindly ask for someone in your area to take a look with you.
If you buy a bad one it can cost you loads, if you buy a good one then you will have years of fun.
