Is it a common procedure to disable the secondary throttle so that they\'re open all the time? What are the advantages/disadvantages of such a procedure? Does it make much difference whether they are disabled or not?
all answer appreciated.
There\'s a crackin write-up of the whole procedure and adv/disadv on http://robrobinette.com. Also, try searching on rx7club.com...there\'ll be masses of info on there.
As far as im aware the secondary throttle is to prevent to much fuel/air mixture going to the engine until the engine has warmed up properly. You could disable it, (i have on mine when i changed to nonsequential) but you have to make sure you take it easy on the throttle until the engine is warmed up to operating temperature or you will be doing more harm than good.

If you disable it, you\'ll be able to get full boost before the water temperature reaches 80degC.
That\'s the only difference worth worrying about.
Mine\'s currently disabled (as I have a dodgy solenoid) with no ill effects.

Yeah, that\'s why I\'m asking really, cos mine\'s disabled too, and my bro wants to know whether this is ok, and he\'s currently working on fixing my FD, and wanted to know whether this was a problem.
I took my butterfly valves out completley to increase airflow.. As i said just dont put the foot down until its warmed up which is common sense anyway..
Good answers above.
I disabled mine with no ill effects at all :)
