I\'ve tried to replace them...what a nightmare...you\'ve gotta watch how much they stick out or they prevent the windows going down..obviously.

I\'d be interested to hear who has what and where they got them from as well.

I put some Infity components it mine with no troubles, adpater plate and everything supplied, you will have to ask Gaz what model as he now has the car and i gave him the origianal box,s the speakers came with, with the model number on.
I think is user id, is gaz101.

I recently fitted some JBL\'s which fit in quite well just had to cut some of the plastic off the back of the door grilles as the tweeters pushed out a bit.

Model: JBL gto526e

I have had three Fd\'s now and have uprated the front speakers every time.  In my last one i had a set of Kenwood dual mags, they have a very small magnet on the back, plus they are very light.  The tweer i mounted near the top of the door.  They sound good but all depends on where your going with the stereo install.  I ran them off a kenwood amp and they worked well.

In my new FD i have a top of th range diamond speakers....they fit ok and have quite a large magnet on the back.  They sound amazing, you can tell the difference.

All the above speakers are 6.5" components.  As for installtion you will have to do some trimming but nothing major....

Cheers

Adam

Its interesting that you put in 6.5" As thats what i read the size should be but when it came to it i couldnt get them to sit so ended up going for 5.25" which seem to do the job.

They don\'t just go straight in.  You have to do some trimming of the black plastic trim that the orginals sit in.  But both sets fitted well. I sound deadened each door as well to make sure i got the best from them.

Most of the top audio specialist\'s should sell them...but be prepared to be spending in the region of 400 for them.....but then it all depends on where your going with your install.

If you need name and numbers of shops then let me know and i\'ll sort some out for you.....plus if you need any advice on installs i might be able to help, done a fair few in my time :)

Cheers
