Title: Speedo Conversion Q - with a small twist!
Post by: ds2000 on November 10, 2004, 12:32:23 PM
Hi all,

I\'ve taken my dash to bits as I intend painting the rough bits and sorting the clocks out a little :)

The speedo that came with my car is in KM and reads far more mileage than the car has done, the garage I purchased the car off were good enough to give me the original - the only reason for the swap was that the stepper motor had stopped working (so fair enough really)

Here\'s a quick shot of the two:

The one that was taken out of the car has this little chip on it:

Is this a conversion to MPH or purely just the KM/Miles conversion (on the mileometer) when the car was imported?

Sadly this did say 50,000 (miles) when I first tested it, the clock has been off for a while now and it sadly seems to have reset to 0 :(

Does anyone know of an SVA center that I can send this too that can reflash the chip and do the conversion if it hasn\'t already been done?

(Obviously I\'ve got to swap the stepper motor over first :)

Thanks

Dave
