Title: Evans waterless coolant anyone
Post by: wiggy on November 08, 2004, 10:00:45 AM
Hi all

Don\'t know how many of you have been reading about this in the other thread but I have contacted them in the US and they have supplied me with details of who to buy off in the country.

I have been speaking with them over the last week or so about whats needed, how much etc and also mentioned that a few others might be interested. I already have orders taken off a few mates with High powered cars so I am asking on here if anyone interested?

Price so far is £27.50 per Gallon + postage

If you look at the evans website you can have a read about it yourself and the benifits of using it. Its also a lifetime coolant so should just be a one off payment. You can also run a 0 pressure system putting much much less strain on things like seals, hoses, gaskets, AST etc etc. Meaning things should lasty a lot longer

Check out the site anyway.

Apparently its not really needed

Reply from Evans...

flushing with 100% ethylene glycol is effective.

So just pure cheap antifreeze will do to flush the system out. fill and drain a few times and the jobs a good\'n

Cheers

I\'ve been reading up on this over the last couple of months, was going to wait till rebuild time to get rid of old coolant. If what you say is right about using pure anti-freeze to flush the system you can count me in on some.

Cheers

All the threads I\'ve seen on the US forums talk about using Evans Sierra to flush all of the remaining water out of the system before filling with NPG+. Sierra is essentially the same as any antifreeze you can get over here, just gotta make sure it\'s EG based.

worth mentioning if you don\'t already know, you are allowed about 3% water in the mix so completely flushing and drying out isn\'t needed. I was told by Evans in the US that usually 2 flushes will leave approx 1-2% or water if not less. :D
