Hi all
On a twin pump and swirl set up (primarily for track days) do you guys leave the std pump in the tank to use as the pickup? With/Without power to it or do you remove the pump and just have a weighted pipe in the tank ?
Cheers
In practice a stock pump will not supply enough to fill a swirl pot feeding two pumps. You would need something like a supra/bosch 044 pump.

Hi Fish
I was thinking myself more like 2 external pumps (aeromotive or similar?) Now the way I understand it the primary pump (the one supplying fuel to the Swirl pot) HAS to supply more fuel than the secondary pump used for the Fuel rail. The excess is then returned to the tank via the return pipe from the swirl pot. So the secondary pump would have to be something like the Walbro 255 or the bosch etc.
So if I went for the twin external pumps do I leave the std one inside the tank with no power so its just a fuel pickup or do I remove the pump and just have a pipe in the tank??
Cheers
the feed pump need not be a high pressure unit, a low pressure high volume pump would work fine.
