Title: Rear Diff Going?
Post by: fly on October 29, 2004, 10:46:34 PM
What kind of symptons could these be:

When accelerating and turning in 1st or 2nd gear theres a noise that sounds like a blown exhaust coming from the rear wheels (its not the exhaust, the engine and exhaust sound fine when the cars stationery).

Severe juddering while cruising slowly (40-50 mph) in 4th or 5th gear, esp when the revs drop below 2k.

Loud clunking noises from the rear of the car in general especially when going slowly over potholes etc.

Differential?

Driveshaft?

I\'m at my wits end with this bloody car.

The loud clunking over potholes is usually classic rear pillow ball bushings worn out.
