Post by: Donato on October 29, 2004, 03:27:17 PM
My abs light is on permanetly, obviously its an mot failure, the problem is as its got an apexi the garage machine says there are no fault codes even although the light is on permanently, is there anything i can do to get round this, how am i supposed to know if the sensors have gone or wether its something less expensive without getting the fault codes?

Help please??

Take the bulb out.

problem with taking the bulb is that they know its failed and the light has to iluminate then go out on start up.

Might have to wire it to my oil light to pass it. Mmmm that migh tbe an idea.

Donato!

Check all the fuses underneath the driver side if they all ok.  I had a same problem and it was a fuse.

Its probably a wheel sensor gone bad, not too hard to sort out with a bit of help. pm me if you want some tips on what to look for. I have replaced them with BMW 3 series sensors before with no problem.

Hi Guys, problem solved with two cables from the seat belt light ;)

I reckon it is a sensor, which i may well have a look at over the winter. the anti lock brakes seemed to work fine at knockhill yesterday so i aint to bothered...

Does anyone know if a cracked indicator lens is an MOT fail?

Depends on the crack. You can get coloured transparent repair tape for indicators from motor factors....
