Firstly i would just like to say hi,i have been folowing this site for a while now and want an rx more and more i think i have a good idea about what to look out for but i am slightly confused about the value.
for example:L reg rx import prices seem to range from £5,500-£8,000 they all seem to have similar milage condition ect firstly i would rather buy cheap and budget for a rebuild rather spend £7,000 and then have to spend £2,500 for a rebuild that way over a period of time i get the perfect car .
Any help would be gratfully recieved.
can enyone recomend an importer?
cheers Paul:cheers
You really need to look at them. Some of the cheaper cars are total dogs, although theres always the odd bargain one about.

I can recomend Rotary Imports. I bought mine there from Brian and he has been really good.
Cheers guys thanks for your replies,I fogot to mention how much i am looking forward to being part of rotary sceen my car passed its MOT yesterday which means it will be up for sale very soon.
Bring on the RX7!!:D
As has been said, you need to shop around :)
I looked at about 13 before I settled for my FD, I think I racked up about 1500 miles in doing so too :)
I didn\'t have a huge budget but managed for find a little gem for £7000, after a bit of swindling I got a further £500 knocked off.
Its pretty much spotless on the exterior and only has minor interior blemishes (all of which I can sort myself)
just paid £6350 for mine on a K plate, again interor blemishes, but the engine is brand new 3,000 miles on it
i looked at a good few before i bought and came to the same kinf of reasoning, as said there are a load of dogs out there, i drove from south wales to leeds, to find the worst two garages in existence:reallymad
my adveice is to buy from someone here or fduk as almost all garages are dodgy or overpriced
oooo which garages where they???..... K.T.C????
HOW DID YOU GUESS AND BEECHES
in beeches they were swapping clocks in front of me, and the blue rx has a red roof and headlamp, the boot was once black so well dodgy, a bargain £6000 (not much overspray:rollin )

No way?! That\'s unreal. One place i WON\'T be looking then!
Personally (and i suppose this depends, like most car decisions, on your budget) i think having Brian or Miguel (from rotaryimports.com and neweraimports.com respectively) source you exactly what you want is the way to go. Not only are you guaranteed to get the exact car you want, but also that it\'ll be a good one - these companies thrive on reputation and to date it\'s virtually unheard of (save one example) for a less-than-perfect car to be delivered to a customer. Plus, these guys love their FDs, Miguel has a lovely one in Japan and a competition car being built here, and Brian has loads!! :cool
Only thing is it\'s not very likely they\'d source you a car that needs a rebuild for obvious reasons, although i believe (someone correct me if i\'m wrong) Brian tends to rebuild engines as he sees fit, and offers a 12 mth warranty.
So glad I didn\'t waste my time going to those two places last weekend.

Surely someone has reported them to TS for that !
Rich,
the sad truth is many garages all over the country do that buddy, saw a programme on it a few months back on "discovery" and they bought a T5 volvo for £5000 with 68000miles on the clock, after some research and talking to the former owner they found the mileage to be around the 155000 mark:eek:
So make your own mind up on that!!!!
