Title: First Service

Sorry guys, I know the debate on Engine Oil is seemingly endless and in some cases is down to personal choice.  I have trawled the search forums for an answer and can\'t find one.

What have people put in their 3rd Gens the first time they have changed the oil.  I am a little concerned that as I have imported my car I don\'t know whether it has been run on fully/semi synthetic for all it\'s life. ( I plan to use Castrol Mineral )  There has been some talk about O rings being damaged when oil is changed from synthetic to Mineral.  What have you guys put in yours on the 1st service?  And do you know of any problems that have been caused by doing this.

Cheers

Matt

I was in the same position you are not long ago. I refilled with Castrol GTX 10W40 mineral oil. God only knows what was in there before...all I know is that it was as black as arseholes! Everything seems to be fine, although I suppose there\'s no way of knowing unless you tear down the motor and actually examine the seals...and even then there\'s no way of telling if any damage was due to the synthetic or the switch to mineral.
