Hi
If I walk into my local Spazda dealer with a cracked key and ask them to do me a new one will they
A. Tell me to get stuffed
B. Do me one while asking me to bend over
C. Be very nice, cut me a key while I wait and only charge me a tenner??
:D
Cheers
Just go to a usual key cutting place, however to make a car key you now require a identification document and the cars V5 document to prove the car is yours, with the identification document it must have your current address on it.
Someone correct me if i\'m wrong though???
Dont think you need any documents to get a key cut in town. My Fiance tried to get one done on Saturday. Only problem is that most places will not have the right key in stock. We were told it would need to be ordered.
BUT the locksmith that sorted mine had loads of the type you need. SO it could be pot luck?
We weren\'t asked for any documents though!!
Stu
DOH!! I never even thought about going to a key cutter, I shall give it a try tomoz and c what they can come up with....
I\'ll take the V5 just in case ;)
Cheers
I got 2 keys cut from a \'local\' shop in town. The are the same shape as the originals, but without Efini/mazda logos on them. Cost £6 each. The Rx7 keys are the same as the Mx5 ones, so any key cutters will have them. Mine were cut from a copy and worked perfectly.
If you want original Efini or Mazda blanks to be cut, your local dealer can supply them, or I\'ve seen the Efini ones on online shops (about £10, plus the cutting). Probably some of the vendors here can supply them too.
Oh and V5\'s etc. aren\'t needed to cut keys if your getting a copy done. Afterall its not like your getting a key cut to steal the car, when you have a working one to get copied?!! :D
