Any opinions on this?
Due to its shape i cant really see it keeping its rigidity but i might be wrong. It not the cheapest peice of metal in the world is it!
If it chassis stiffening your after then extra anti roll bars are what your after, i have them on mine and the handling is great!

Yeah, but this looked easier to fit :p
Point taken mate but some things are too easy... :p
Reckon I\'ll hang fire on this - I plan on getting antroll bars when I get the bushes replaced but will wait and do that when they actually need replacing.
Arc do a nice setup which i have on the mine, if you need pics etc let me know. I cannot give you purchase details as it was already on the car, believe me the car is very stiff though, but mine has two anti roll bars at the front one at the back with bars running from the anti roll bar to the chassis either side of the transmission tunnel.

you mean like the floor supports here?

Was looking at all three of these - thought it would make a nice set up, hadn\'t realised how expensive anti-roll bars are - or are these just really expensive?
Not quite the same mate, when i get a chance i will get some photos, those prices do look expensive, i would do some further investigating mate, im sure you could get cheaper than that..

Do you actually mean anti roll/sway bars Don? or braces?? sounds like the latter?
A/R bars dont stiffen the chassis par ce I dont think, they prevent body roll.
Rich
It looks like both Anti roll and stiffeners, as i say it came with the car so i don\'t know the ins and outs of it, its ARC and its welded and bolted onto the chassis and the suspension.
I will get some decent pics and post them up so you can see what im talking about.

P.s Im not expert but i thought anti roll bars worked on the principle they prevent roll by stiffening? As i say i don\'t know for sure the principles involved.
my understanding was the same - anti-roll bars do the same job underneath as strut braces do at the top so that the suspension does what it\'s supposed to instead of the chassis
Anti roll bars reduce the amount one side of the cars suspension can compress under cornering forces compared to the other (EDIT: i.e they are linked each side and fixed to the body in the middle, the harder one side tries to compress, the harder the other side will try and resist. The fatter that A/R bar, the greater the roll will be fought), a bit like fitting harder springs - but u dont sacrifice ride quality badly under normal use whereas stiff springs does. They dont make the shell more rigid like under body braces which are there to stop the body from actually flexing e.g. like strut braces which effectively stop the gap between the strut tops getting wider or thinner under force.
You could brace the shell to death with steel girders, but you\'d still have massive body role with squidgy springs and no anti roll bars :)

The \'explain this product\' option on the Do-Luck site doesn\'t work.:D Perhaps they don\'t know what it will do on an FD either.
Let u know about Knockhill Bob :D
I see, said the blind man...

Doesnt it go on the indside behind the seats, running accross the floor then over the tunnel. Dont know how much stiffer it would be, but its pretty :p
Yeah it runs across behind the seats, inside the car and uses the existing seatbelt mountings.
Seems to work on my machine Rich - you don;t click on it, just hover and it brings up and explanation box.
